the state of Texas. If teaching certification is from another state, a grace period will be offered in order to switch that over.

- Be present and prepared for the school day 8:15 AM - 2:45 PM; Monday - Thursday.
- Demonstrate competency, good judgment, and self-control in the presence of children and
when performing assigned responsibilities. - Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance, and patience.
- Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families and their
cultures. - Be present to all monthly staff meetings for the entire school year.
- Ensure that no child is abused, neglected, or exploited while in the care of the center.
- Report suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation to DFPS as specified in the Texas Family
Code, §261.101. - Preserve a culture of honor among coworkers, parents and students.
- Create age appropriate lessons, problem-based learning, student team building and hands-on
experiences for the students based on the TEKS set forth by the Texas Board of Education. - Provide a loving, safe and engaging atmosphere for students.
- Communicate effectively with parents through Classdojo, email and in person to ensure that
they are well informed about their child’s progress at UPPERROOM Academy, as well as
address any questions that they may have. - Maintain a positive classroom environment by speaking life over the kids, redirecting undesired
behavior and training the kids to walk in the fullness of who they were created to be. - Be prepared and have knowledge on the area of topic about being taught.
- Plan and prepare for each subject being taught before 8:15 AM each day
- Be at your door ready to greet each student as they arrive at 8:25 AM
- Plan and implement classroom management practices.
- Implement strategies to develop independent learners.
- Provide opportunities for the students to use current technology and follow all protocols and
guidelines to keep children safe while using technology. - Submit all receipts, incident reports, training hours, supply requests, spending for class budget
to the administrative assistant of UPPERROOM Academy. - Oversee monthly classroom budget and stay within budget.
- Maintain a professional work environment by adhering to the dress code, arriving to work on
time or early, communicating with the directors and following their instructions. - Care for all students by ensuring that physical and emotional needs are met.
- Be aware of all student allergies in your care and care for the student accordingly.
- Be aware of the permissions for sunscreen, bug spray, and media release documents for each
student in your care. - Leave the room tidy at the end of the day and all surfaces have been sanitized.
- Be a team player to help UPPERROOM Academy achieve greatness.
