- Be present and prepared for the school day 8:15 AM - 2:45 PM Monday - Thursday.
- Create age appropriate lessons, games and hands-on experiences for the students.
- Teach students about the arts by introducing them to artistic ideas, concepts, techniques
and art history. - Be present and prepared for the school day 8:15 AM - 2:45 PM, Tuesday & Thursday.
- Help with the car line for drop off from 8:25 - 8:35 AM and pick up from 2:25 - 2:40 PM.
- Be present to all monthly staff meetings for the entire school year.
- Encourage creative and critical thinking by building and producing projects,
experimenting with different materials and ideas, allowing trial and error to learn ways
that things work and explore hands-on activities. - Plan and coordinate art projects and activities for school wide events and get approval
from the UPPERROOM Academy directors. - Help coordinate Spring Showcase event.
- Provide a loving, safe and engaging atmosphere for students.
- Submit all receipts, incident reports, training hours, supply requests, spending for class
budget to the administrative assistant of UPPERROOM Academy. - Oversee monthly classroom budget and stay within budget.
- Effectively communicate with parents through Classdojo, email and in person to ensure
that they are well informed about their child’s progress at UPPERROOM Academy, as
well as address any questions that they may have. - Demonstrate competency, good judgment, and self-control in the presence of children
and when performing assigned responsibilities. - Relate to children with courtesy, respect, acceptance and patience.
- Be aware of all student allergies in your care and care for the student accordingly
- Be aware of the permissions for sunscreen, bug spray and media release documents for
each student in your care. - Recognize and respect the uniqueness and potential of all children, their families and
their cultures. - Ensure that no child is abused, neglected or exploited while in the care of the center.
- Report suspected abuse, neglect and exploitation to DFPS as specified in theTexas
Family Code, §261.101. - Preserve a culture of honor among co-workers, parents and students.
- Maintain a positive classroom environment by speaking life over the kids, redirecting
undesired behavior and training the kids to walk in the fullness of who they were created
to be. - Maintain a professional work environment by adhering to the dress code, arriving to work
on time or early, communicating with the directors and following their instructions. - Help to leave the room tidy at the end of the day and ensure all toys and surfaces have
been sanitized. - Be a team player to help UPPERROOM Academy achieve greatness.
